Mattel Interactive Corporate Portal

The Challenge

The Learning Company struggled constantly with brand confusion. The company had gone through four different names in fewer years. As an amalgamation of several small companies, there were so many brands that it was very difficult for anyone to understand the relationship between them. To solve the problem, the company decided to take yet another name, Mattel Interactive, and asked me to build a corporate site which presented the Mattel Interactive brand and showed how the other brands fell under the Mattel Interactive umbrella.

The Result

The "jumping man" Mattel Interactive branding really jumps out at you in this dramatic design. You can see vividly that The Learning Company, Broderbund, SSI, Mattel Media, and Parsons Technology are all related to the bigger Mattel Interactive. Rolling over any of the older company names at the right exposed the sub-brands for that company in the center. (A sample is provided if you roll over The Learning Company.) Thus three levels of branding were organized in an understandable way.
