The Challenge

We wanted to create a sense of community and a way to share ideas even though students would take the course completely asynchronously, in other words, on their own, whenever and wherever they wanted.

The Result

Using our Learning Management System (Moodle), we designed a system that included assignments to post to an online discussion forum, office hours with the author, and webinars where students would receive critiques of their presentations. This helps to add a community dimension to what would be an otherwise isolated learning experience.
